Sea Minerals Information
Sea Minerals are a rich source of essential minerals and trace elements, derived by natural processes from Australian oceans. All the minerals and trace elements in the Sea Minerals are in a water soluble form, and thus more easily absorbed by the body. THE IMPORTANCE OF MINERALS AND TRACE ELEMENTS

- Hormonal secretion of glands is dependant upon mineral stimulation. Each endocrine gland of the human body requires a minimal supply of specific minerals in order to sustain perfect hormonal balance in the body
- Adequate mineral levels, in particular magnesium, are essential in the regulation of neurotransmitters.
- A number of minerals, and not just calcium, are essential in building strong bones. These include magnesium and phosphorus, and as such, magnesium deficiency has been implicated in osteoporosis.
- All elements work together as a collective whole, and a deficiency of one can partly disrupt the assimilation, uptake and function of other minerals and vitamins.
- Among trace elements, Copper, Chromium, Lithium, Vanadium, Molybdenum and several others have been shown to be essential. Trace elements are generally overlooked in nutrition, mostly because they have subtle effects that are not easily understood or studied. However, there is limited information (very few studies have been done) suggesting that others may be of benefit.

No other plant can an equal the nettle as a remedy for anaemia, cholorosis, rickets, all respiratory diseases, allegies and especially Lymphatic problems. The stinging nettle is rich in calcium, magnesium phosphorus, sodium, iron, silica and other important minerals. It also belongs to small category of plants that contain vitamin D. This is why eating raw nettles either in juice or pulped, has a quick and reliable effect on rickets. It is extremely benefiicial for arthritic ailments, inflamed joints of a gouty nature, kidney or bladder irritations.
It is the best blood cleansing herb known to herbalists and recommended strongly in the treatment of acne and eczema. It is also excellent for blood building and has certainly been used by herbalists in the battle against leukaemia. It is anti-haemorrhagic. It is very useful for people with low blood pressure and lack of good arterial flow. It has been known to be useful for sciatica lunbago neuritis and menopausal conditions.
Hawthorn looks after the heart by gradually reducing elevated blood pressure and by stimulating or depressing its activity, depending on the need. It can also be used as a sedative to reduce nervous tension and it is excellent for insomnia. For people who suffer from – or come from a family with history of suffering from – hardening of the arteries, vascular insufficiency, irregular pulse, high or low blood pressure, angina pectoris, inflammation of the heart muscle or arteriosclerosis, Hawthorn should have a revered place in their herbal pantry.
Papain, an enzyme produced by the tropical fruit, papaya, is proteolytic, which means that it digests proteins. Since parasitic organisms are largely proteins, papain is effective in eliminating parasites. Chemicals in papain may increase immune system function and they may also promote the release of natural chemicals that attack tumor cells. Papain may lessen inflammation, as well. All of these potential effects may make papain-containing preparations useful as an addition to cancer therapy. In other research, papain and related enzymes have been studied for oral use in several conditions. Some evidence shows that they may help to prevent complications of diabetes, possibly by lessening protein deposits in the kidneys. Proteolytic enzymes such as papain may also decrease pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis, improve healing of injuries, and reduce swelling after surgery. Topically, papain has been used for skin conditions such as psoriasis. Its ability to break down proteins is used to remove dead tissue from burns, to help skin injuries heal, to remove warts, and to treat ringworm. Cold sores caused by Herpes zoster virus have been treated successfully with both oral and topical papain-containing products.
Sheep sorrel is a popular ingredient of many folk remedies and the tea was used traditionally as a diuretic and to treat fevers, inflammation and scurvy. Sheep sorrel was considered the most active herb in Essiac for stimulating cellular regeneration, detoxification and cleansing, based on reports by Rene Caisse and her doctor colleague. Interestingly, even though it is not a legume, sheep sorrel contains significant levels of phytoestrogens The herb also contains several anthraquinones that are effective antioxidants and radical scavengers. Sheep sorrel has been known to prevent the spread of contagious diseases such as the plague and has overcome fevers caused by cholera and malaria. Its most important healing elements may be chlorophyll and oxalic acid, there is however, much research still to be done to discover the hidden mysteries that make this ubiquitous little plant so vital.
Nasturtium has long been used in Andean herbal medicine as a disinfectant and wound-healing herb, and as an expectorant to relieve chest conditions. All parts of the plant appear to be antibiotic and can be used to increase resistance to bacterial infections and to clear nasal and bronchial catarrh.
The leaves are antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic, aperient, depurative, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, laxative and stimulant and it is known as Nature’s antibiotic. The plant is taken internally in the treatment of genito-urinary diseases, respiratory infections, scurvy and poor skin and hair.
